Lightmatter develops photonic integrated circuits and co-packaged optics (CPO) designed to accelerate AI workloads. Their core innovation lies in the Passage family of products – including the Passage M1000 3D Photonic Superchip and L200 optical engines – which utilize a vertically integrated electronic-photonic architecture to deliver industry-leading bandwidth density and efficiency for data movement between GPUs, TPUs, and data center switches. Targeting large-scale AI model training and inference, Lightmatter recently demonstrated a world-first 16-wavelength bidirectional optical DWDM link on a single fiber, achieving an 8x increase in bidirectional fiber bandwidth density and positioning them as a leader in next-generation AI infrastructure.
