Sunbird AI is a Ugandan non-profit research organization that builds practical AI systems for African contexts in speech and language, geospatial and environmental sensing, and public-sector decision support. It developed Sunflower, a multilingual large language model covering more than 31 Ugandan languages. It works with public agencies, SMEs and community partners across Uganda.
